Earthquake

An earthquake is the shaking of the surface of the Earth, resulting from the sudden release of energy in the Earth's lithosphere that creates seismic waves. They can range in size from those that are so weak that they cannot be felt to those strong enough to cause property damage and loss of human life. Monitoring stations around the globe use seismometers to detect, locate, and estimate the magnitude of earthquakes. REACT provides a subscription service that allows users to design a set of criteria that will trigger a set of event notifications, data collection, and data processes that will accumulate information in the form of Earthquake Event Albums. Event Albums can be used by researchers, disaster response personnel, and decision makers to monitor earthquake events throughout the world.
